Meet Tim

Tim Collins is a native of Los Angeles and enjoys over a thirty year association as a New York Life Insurance Company agent.

Tim earned his CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation twenty years ago and continues to meet and exceed goals in his professional development. He achieved an appointment to the prestigious New York Life Executive Council on several occasions and received numerous awards including membership in the Million Dollar Round Table****.

In Los Angeles, July 2007, Timothy J. Collins, CLU®, ChFC®, earned the Chartered Financial consultant (ChFC) professional designation from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA.

Candidates for the ChFC® program focus on a complete financial strategy process as an organized way to collect and analyze information on a client's total financial situation. ChFCs can identify and establish specific financial goals and then formulate, implement, and monitor a extensive strategy to achieve those goals. Individuals who earn a ChFC® provide recommendations on a broad range of financial topics including: financial strategies, wealth accumulation and estate planning, income taxation, life and health insurance, business taxation and planning, investment and retirement strategies.


As part of his ongoing effort to add value for his clients, Tim is certified to offer a unique educational approach to retirement planning called the Macro Asset Perspective®.

For the past twelve years, Tim has been a member of the distinguished Glendale Estate Planning Council. This organization is comprised of the most knowledgeable and accomplished estate planners, attorneys, insurance agents,and CPAs practicing in the tri-city area. Tim's contributions to the success of the New York Life Los Angeles Office are a lucrative level of production and service as Vice-President, and then President of the Agents' Advisory Board, which represents two hundred fifty agents.

He has pursued this market throughout his career together with referrals from his brother's property and casualty business. Tim introduces prospective clients to a broad range of financial topics including retirement planning, estate conservation, and wealth accumulation.


Tim is a family man and a respected member of his church and community. Through the years, he has generously donated his time in a variety of volunteer positions: school board president, chairman of fundraising, and booster club. For the past twenty-two years, Tim has served as President of the Advisory Board for the Glendale Community Center operated by Catholic Charities. However, his foremost "volunteer love" has been coaching. A former football coach at the United States naval Academy, Tim has enjoyed and successfully coached a variety of sports throughout the years. his whistle, clipboard, and playbook, while currently retired, are always subject to reactiviation.
