Meet Tim


Tim Collins is a native of Los Angeles and has enjoyed a twenty-five year association as an agent with the New York Life Insurance Company.

Tim has earned his CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation fifteen years ago and continues to meet and exceed goals in his professional development. He has achieved an appointment to the prestigious New York Life Executive Council on several occasions and has received numerous awards including membership in the Million Dollar Round Table***.

For the past eight years, Tim has been a member of the distinguished Glendale Estate Planning Council. This organization is comprised of the most knowledgeable and accomplished estate planners, attorneys, insurance agents,and CPAs practicing in the tri-city area. Tim's contribution to the success of the New York Life Los Angeles Office is a lucrative level of production, and his service as Vice-President, and then President of the Agents' Advisory Board which represents one hundred fifty agents.

Tim primarily sells to three target markets:

  • Business owners
  • Engineers
  • Architects
He has pursued this market throughout his career together with referrals from his brother's business. Tim introduces prospective clients to the beneficial uses of life insurance, retirement funding, split dollar plans and estate conservation. He recommends and sells Whole Life, Universal Life*, Variable Universal Life*#, and group health insurance##.

Tim is a family man and a respected member of his church and community. He generously donates his time in a variety of volunteer positions: School Board President and Fundraising Chairman, Booster Club, President of the Advisory Board for the Glendale Community Center operated by Catholic Charities. However, his first "volunteer love" is coaching. A former football coach at the United States Naval Academy. Tim has enjoyed and successfully coached a variety of sports throughout the years. Tim concluded, "Good coaching and team chemistry are critical factors in winning, but it sure helps to have a gifted athlete who is bigger, stronger, and faster than anyone else."
